Isfahan: Al Duhail extended their AFC Champions League winning streak to five games with a dogged performance in their 1-0 win over Zobahan on Tuesday.
The Qatari champions continue to look unstoppable, and despite a couple of wobbles away at the Foolad Shahr Stadium, they held on to preserve their perfect record in the AFC Champions League this season.
Absence of both Youssefs keenly felt
With qualification to the round of 16 already sealed, coach Djamel Belmadi opted to spare attacking duo Youssef El Arabi and Youssef Msakni the trip to Isfahan, instead utilising the 2017 AFC U23 top goal scorer Al Moez Ali in the lone striker role.
With 66 goals in all competitions between them this season, it is fair to say that the North African pair are the heartbeat of Al Duhail’s devastating attack this season. As such, it was always going to be a tall order for young Ali to lead the line on his own against Zobahan.

Doha: Qatar's Al Sadd qualified for the knockout stage of the 2018 AFC Champions League after Baghdad Bounedjah's brace propelled them to a 2-1 win over UAE's Al Wasl in their Matchday Five encounter on Monday.
The visitors came off the blocks racing and were in front inside nine minutes, when Bounedjah pounced on Abdulrahman Ali's underhit back-pass before calmly slotting past Yousif Abdulla to give Al Sadd an early breakthrough.
In the 29th minute, Bounedjah set up skipper Xavi Hernandez to tap in from close range but the effort was ruled out after the former was deemed to be in an offside position. Al Sadd went on to have a flurry of chances but were unable to add to their lead for the remainder of the first half.
Right after the restart, Al Wasl finally mustered their first dangerous attempt, with Ronaldo Mendes curling in a fine free-kick which was kept out by goalkeeper Saad Al Dosari.
Al Sadd then extended their advantage in the 59th minute, when Bounedjah scored his seventh goal of the tournament. The Algerian helped launch a rapid breakaway from Al Sadd's own half before converting Akram Afif's low cross with a back-heeled finish.
Bounedjah almost completed his hat-trick in the final minute after being set up by Afif once again, but the striker somehow miscued his shot with the goal at his mercy. Deep into added on time, Al Wasl pulled a goal back after Caio Canedo's deft finish crept past Al Dosari.
The result sees Al Sadd secure a spot in the Round of 16 alongside Group C rivals Persepolis, with both sides set to face off on Tehran on Matchday Six to decide who gets the top spot. Al Wasl stay bottom of the table after a fifth straight defeat and will now play FC Nasaf aiming to clinch a consolation win.

Al Ain: Last year's runners-up, Al Hilal SFC, were eliminated from the 2018 AFC Champions League group stage for the first time since 2006 after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Al Ain thanks to a brace from Marcus Berg on Matchday Five of Group D.
The visitors got off to the perfect start, taking an early lead when Mohammed Al Burayk fired a curling free-kick from 25 yards out that nestled into the top corner of goalkeeper Khalid Eisa's net seven minutes into the game.
Despite the shaky start, Al Ain regrouped and started to threaten. Their first real sight of goal came in the 20th minutes when Omar Abdulrahman produced a brilliant pass to Marcus Berg right, but the Swede's attempt was cleared off the goal line by Al Burayk.
Al Hilal's defender Mohammed Jahfali was penalised after a reckless tackle on Abdulrahman inside the 18-yards-box, but Al Ain's number 10 failed to deliver from the spot as goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi was quick to make the save in the 24th minute.
Five minutes before the break, Abdulrahman was brought down in the box by defender Ali Al Bulayhi and Berg stepped up to take the penalty, successfully levelling the score.
Al Ain kept the pressure on their opponents and there was still time for them to be awarded a third penalty of the night before half-time when Rayan Yslam was fouled by Fahad Al Rashidi, and Berg was once again clinical to net his side's second in added time.

Abu Dhabi: Sardor Mirzayev bagged a brace as Uzbekistan's PFC Lokomotiv defeated UAE's Al Wahda 4-1 on Matchday Five of the 2018 AFC Champions League Group B on Tuesday.
Lokomotiv started on the front foot as Mirzayev broke the deadlock in the fourth minute, slotting Shukhrat Mukhammadeiv's accurate cross past Al Wahda goalkeeper Mohamed Al Shamsi.
The home side responded through Mohamed Al Akbari, but his right footed shot from close range hit Ignatiy Nesterov's right post.
Just six minutes before the half-time whistle, Mirzayev doubled his tally and Lokomotiv's lead as his crossed free-kick from distance skimmed past all bodies in the box and nestled into the back of Al Shamsi's net to make it 2-0 at the break.
